Jazkal
What is winpe 2005, is it similar to barts? Why cant you use an answer file?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>WinPE 2k5, also known as WinPE v1.6 gets released May 1st, tomorrow. It is what BartsPE was originally based off of. BartsPE has grown to encompass lots of little extras, like plugins, and ease of use.It is not like BartsPE because it can be 32 or 64 bit. WinPE 2k5 also has RamDisk support (meaning it can be loaded via RIS, PXE, and ADS.And your second question, I'm not sure what you mean.
hatsumi
How to make a unattended installation of windows x64 edition?-> Buy winpe 2005 (hope you will get it) What cheek!<{POST_SNAPBACK}>What nonsense. If you made unattended installs of WinXP 32-bit, then its all still the same. This thread is a lot of hot-air on an irrelevant subject. From basic unattending to extreme advanced uA:http://unattended.msfn.org/And the exact same thing can be extrapolated for RIS installs over the network - needs only Win2k or WS2k3.The bottom-line:If what you have been doing all along has never required WinPE, nor are you going to need it now with x64 either.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>**** straight, I practised with the XP64 beta and it was fine. Just had to put your stuff in the AMD64 folder rather than i386.
bart of borg
I just made a UXPCD with Win64 too.....no problems at all. Just copied my winnt.sif to the amd64 folder, $oem$ stays the same and WPI works great too.
godan
i think someone got x64 confused with longhorn, longhorn will req winpe for unnattended installs because dos will be 100% MIA, and as a side note there is no winnt.sif file on a normal xp cd either, there is only one there if you put it there nothing has changed. bart of borg
does the 64 edition have drives for sata?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>No, But it doesn't blue screen on you without them either! I haven't tried to install it on a SATA HDD yet but I will!
Astalavista
is it me... or is microsoft dropping the ball by not incorporating the sata drivers.

evilvoice
I seriously dunno what the problem is...it found my SATA drive fine...during windows setup...maybe it depends on the type of chip or something...I have a DFI LP nF3 250 board.

big poppa pump
Finally slipstreamed all drivers and typing this off a successful installation of an unattended xp64 cd on a raid 0 partition. Mobo is MSI Neo2 NF3 and I used exactly the same method as I did for my earlier 32bit installations.
