sedative Posted October 30, 2001 Share Posted October 30, 2001 get a cable modem! but seriously, i picked this up on another forum, haven't tried it since i never see a balloon..1.) Go to Start : Run : type in: gpedit.msc2.) On the right pane.. under User Configuration, dbl-click Administrative Templates 3.) Then in the right pane.. dbl-click 'Start Menu and Taskbar' 4.) in the list... theres one called 'Remove Balloon Tips on Start Menu Items'. 5.) Dbl-Click that and then select 'Disabled' 6.) click OK and close the Group Policy window and there ya go!---------------------but! if that doesn't work..1.) Go to Start : Run : and type in services.msc2.) on the right pane .. there should b one called 'Alerter' .. dbl-click it and under start-up type.. select 'disabled'.---------------------like i said, i haven't tried these, but i hope it'll help.
