I think that preparation of the SP would be not so different in comparison with SE SP and therefore it would not need such a big effort.
But are there people looking for it?
Although most hotfixes are available, there is still not so short list of missing ones:
Q189591, Q190715, Q192117, Q192845, Q193473, Q195564, Q196008, Q217189, Q224073, Q233017, Q234697, Q240896, Q241134, Q242939, Q243048, Q254087, Q265528, Q269239
Is there anybody who could help me to obtain them?
And regarding Windows 98 SE, does anybody have Q329128, Q317796, Q271701, Q254660 (they are in MS KB) and Q277623, Q318307, Q268064 (just referenced in SE SP)?
If anybody has any of these files, please send them to p@s.cz.

I can help you out with some of the updates you need-
Q189591 is NOT needed at all. Win98 Service Pack 1 includes this fix so get it here:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/c/0...d349e/wucsp.exe
Q189591 has v4.10.2018 of the fixes while Win98 SP1 has v4.10.2019 so install SP1.
Q234697 is not neccesary as its only available in Japanese Win98 First edition, not English Win98 first edition. Read MS article Q234697 VERY carefully. Problem ONLY occurs in Japanese-language edition of Win98 and NOT any other language version.
Q240896 is not needed. Use WinME version of opengl32.dll file to resolve problem.
Q254660 NOT needed. Fix is included in Microsoft Intellipoint Software version 4.x.
Q318307 is included in MS Intellipoint 4.12 Mouse software. download Intellipoint 4.12 at MS Download center.
Q317796 not needed. Install DSClient for Win98 as noted in Microsoft support article Q323455 which includes Q317796. DSClient can be downloaded here:
ftp://ftp.catalyst.c...rt/dsclient.exe
Q269239 vnbt.386 update is found at this web site (aka. Q264650):
http://ftp.isu.edu.tw/pub/CPatch/msupdate/.../264650usa8.exe
Hope this helps you out.

NO WAY! Win98 SE (2nd edition) is much improved over Win98 FE (1st edition).
The unofficial Win98se SP does NOT work at all under Win98 FE because it's for Win98 SE ONLY!
Win98 FE is version 4.10.1998. Win98 SE is version 4.10.2222.
Differences between the two is that SE has FULL WDM [Windows Driver Model] support (meaning the driver files for WDM are only .SYS files, NOT .VXD files and that these WDM-based drivers can be used under W98/ME & NT5 systems), ALL Y2k fixes, and ICS [Internet connection sharing]. ICS is not included in Win98fe. Plus W98 SE has numerous obscure big fixes to W98 fe and supports more hardware.
I read one of soldier1st's post on another forum page that Win98fe is buggy and W98 users should upgrade to Win98se. I'm not kidding. Ask soldier1st yourself and you'll see.
Better in the long run to use Win98se instead of Win98fe. Win98se can be used on older/slower AND newer/faster computers. Win98fe chokes on the newest computers and latest hardware and should be used under older machines.

"Is this file freely available so it could be added to the service pack?"
Ask MDGx on how to obtain the opengl32.dll file and glu32.dll file from Windows ME.
If that doesn't work, email me so I can send you these files.
Q192845 vmouse.vxd is NOT needed Petr. Install Q318307 vmouse.vxd patch which is included in Intellipoint 4.12 software. When you install MS Intellipoint 4.12 mouse software [which requires Windows Installer 2.0 for Win9xME], the Q318307 patch for Win98 gets installed automatically which has vmouse.vxd version 4.10.2225. Q318307 CAN be installed under both Win98 FE and Win98 SE.
Q190715, Q193473, Q195564, Q196008, Q242939 & Q277628 hotfixes; I HAVE these, Petr. Click on my username and send me email.
Q233017 pci.vxd 4.10.2018 patch for Win98 is listed at MDGx's web site:
http://www.mdgx.com/web.htm
Scroll down his page and find the patch titled "Microsoft Windows 98 CardBus TI 14xx or 44xx Card Controllers PCI.VXD build 4.10.2018 Fix".
As for msmouse.vxd v11.40.852, ask Gape why it was left out of 2.0 RC. Better to install the whole Intellipoint software and not get Q254660, even if you're using a non-MS Intellipoint mouse.
I'm working on getting Q329128 patches for Win98 and WinME. Note for Win98's Q329128, you need the DUN 1.4 Q285189 update for Win98. Turn down once by MS but will try again.

And Q254660 is piece of crap silly hotfix for W98. It only added support for the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer mouse and not newer Microsoft mice.
As for the hotfixes I have, you should receive them sometime this Friday. I'm kinda busy working on more important stuff and I have to find the cd where I stored the W98 hotfixes on. I requested them from MS back in late March. I do a great job asking them and MS does give me what I want, most of the time.

Maybe it would be good to have somewhere the list of
- hotfixes that will be added in the next release
- hotfixes that will not be added because they are buggy.
It's not very convenient to search everything in all discussions.

OK. It means that it is not good idea to install intellipoint 4.12 software as erpdude8 suggested?

I didn't mean this table, even though it is very useful too. I meant something like continuous changelog, updated immediately after some feature is added/removed/modified/fixed, even between releases of the SP. So now I would see there lines like
- RUNPOST.BAT goto end bug corrected
- 2_4date removed
- Q891711 2nd release added
- Q888113 added
- Q891781 added
- REGSVR32.EXE updated to version xxx from yyy
- REGEDIT patch removed
- Qxxxxxx will not be added because of yyyyyy
- Q329128 will be added when available
So always when anybody will think that found some new patch or bug, he could check this table and see if you already know about it or not.

Petr

I sent him the vfat.vxd hotfixes for W98/WME more than a month ago. search for vfat.vxd on his page and you should find them. so I don't have to send you Q277628.
As for msmouse.vxd v11.x, you need the complete Intellipoint software. having msmouse.vxd v11 by itself w/out intellipoint installed may lockup the system as Gape said. But if you install the whole Intellpoint mouse software (either version 4.01 or 4.12), it should work fine. My younger brother bought a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical device several years ago but it came with Intellipoint 3.2 software, which was buggy and caused a lot of random mouse movements in random directions. Updated it to at least v4.01 and things were stable.
Intellipoint 4.01 is the last version to support Win95 and v4.12 is the last to support Win98, ME & NT4. Versions 5 and higher will only support Win2k/XP.
Let me handle obtaining Q329128 patch for you Petr. if you can't get it from MS, let me do it instead as I have a very good success rate in asking them. You can only request one hotfix at a time. It won't work if you try to request multiple hotfixes at once. And it also depends on the MS support rep answering the hotfix request. Most reps are smart but there some that are just UNintelligent & could lead you in circles.
Read the whole forum thread on requesting hotfixes from Microsoft:

Sadly, Microsoft just emailed me saying the Q329128 hotfixes are not available at this time (at least I got a straightforward answer, so I'll have to take their word for it). So Petr and Gape, lets forget about Q329128 for now and let's wait for about a month to see if MS will offer it.
Q252187 esdi_506.pdr v4.10.2226 was included in SP v1.2 but was removed in future releases of Gape's 98se SP (starting v1.5) due to causing lockups before Windows 98se loaded on some systems. instead of fixing the lockups on some machines, it actually did the reverse in causing lockups in other PCs. So the Q252187 fix is for certain computers only [install Q252187 on IBM Thinkpad 600x machines only and do NOT install on other name brand computers].

Thank you very much, I have added them recently and did not so good search for them. So now are remaining:
Q192112 Kswdmcap.ax, Vfwwdm.drv, Vfwwdm32.dll 4.10.2043 (only if this is really newer version than vfwupd.exe 4.10.2000 with newer date)
