I've read the staroffice 5.2 installation guide, and I'm still not quite clear on the following question. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently using openoffice 2.0 beta.

I would like, by default, to start openoffice writer, I click "save" and have the file-type set to "microsoft word 97/2000/XP"...

How do I specify in the response.txt file how to save files in a default format (as opposed to manually setting it everytime under tools > options > load/save > general > default file format) :) ?

I saw something in the star office 5.2 install guide, "section module_specify", and I haven't a clue where to begin (or even if I'm right!)

Thank you very much, and look forward to responses.

ah, found it. there's a .reg file in there that is exactly what i needed. it looks like i'm going to have to export my current registry settings in 2.0 beta to mimick what was accomplished in this post.

also, the search on the bottom left of the page seemed to yield more results than the search box on the top left, fyi.

hope this helps someone :)
