Nvidia driver slipstream?

Recommended Posts

and this doesn't work? right?  :blushing:

I guess I wasn't clear enough. :D It sees the drives if I have a

floppy with the driver files in drive A:

I'm not talking about F6, just having the floppy in the drive

while setup is coping files.

I'm trying to figure out how to do it without the floppy.

I couldn't get the drives on the nvidia controller oe the si3114 one.

I'm using Green machines method. Today I found new drivers for the

si3114 controller on windows update. When I tried them they didn't

work either. Anyway I found by accident that

if I leave the driver floppy in the drive while booting from the CD

the drives are recognised, if I don't they aren't. I've haven't tried

the drives on the nvidia controller with floppy in the drive.

I'm hoping someone could explain why I have to have the floppy in

the drive. I used this same method with 32bit XP with out the floppy.

Also I have copied the files to the AMD64 directory.

Here's the relevant part of the txtsetup.sif

If you just leave the floppy in the drive whilst installing windows with the correct raid drivers on it, you wont have to press F6 or have any drivers integrated on the cCD either ..as windows will automatically search this location for them ..this is how I have got round it at the moment, but would still like to have a full auto install off the CD with the drivers on.

Dr!ll.

Thanks, didn't know that. So I guess I'm back to square one.

...Like using the cat files from 32bit???

That wouldn't work. The .cat or security catalog file is for a specific

driver. Also if you make any changes like edit the .inf file then the .cat

file is again nogood. You also couldn't use a .cat file from a different

64bit driver.

hmm, there's a 6.25 floppy creator with cat files

i wonder if they'd work then?

if anybody wants the exe file, i know it's on planetamd64.com, in the download section, but you have to register with the site to get access to all of the downloads

the forums are great tho. IMHO

I got it to work by using the latest drivers on www.planetamd.com using Green Machines method

Placing these lines at the end of my txtsetup.sif file

Also I'm running a Asus K8N-E Dlx MB if that makes any difference

[SourceDisksFiles]
nvrdx64.sys =   1,,,,,,4_,4,1
nvatax64.sys = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1

[HardwareIdsDatabase]

GenNvRaidDisk = "nvrdx64"
*_NVRAIDBUS = "nvrdx64"

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_008E = "nvatax64"
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0085 = "nvatax64"
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_00D5 = "nvatax64"
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_00EE = "nvatax64"
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_00E3 = "nvatax64"
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_00E5 = "nvatax64"
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0035 = "nvatax64"
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0036 = "nvatax64"
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_003E = "nvatax64"

PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0054 = "nvatax64"
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0055 = "nvatax64"

Then I compressed all the files except for txtsetup.oem using makecab.

And copied them to the AMD64 folder of my CD source files.

Now if I could just get the si3114r drivers to work.

Did you add information to [sCSI] and [sCSILOAD] in txtsetup.sif?

I have tryed with your info to no avail, and included adding to [sCSI] and [sCSILOAD] sections...just seems to hang.

You can get the beta promise and Sil 64bit drivers from here, that is if it is the (hit F6) drivers that you need:

http://www.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/Suppo...A-K8NXP-SLI.htm

you may not have a gigabyte board, but they still have the pre-install RAID drivers.

I didn't see any 64bit si3114 drivers on that page.

I can get the si3114r drivers I have to work using the F6 method just fine.

It's when I try to integrate them on the CD that I have problems.

If I remember they're acting the same way the nforce drivers did.

Setup says it's loading the drivers but after starting windows the

drives don't show in the list of drives to install to.

And I don't get any error messages.
