    The current build of the AIM Triton beta software is Version 0.1.12, and the main features of this release are:


  • A modernized appearance and enhanced usability

  • Address Book and Buddy List integration

  • Support for multi-party voice chat.
This phase of the Beta test (Beta 1) is Windows XP only. We recommend that the software be installed on a machine with at least 256 MB of RAM.

There will be several builds of AIM Triton beta software during this test. Earlier builds of the service will be blocked when a new one is released. To make sure you receive updates about new builds and other events in a timely manner, sign up to receive alerts.

04/28 - The Known Issues section has been updated. Also, the Beta 2 phase for the AIMŪ Triton beta software is coming soon. So stay tuned for more updates.

    Q: What are the system requirements for AIM Triton?
    A: The system requirements are:


  • PIII 200Mhz or Greater

  • A minimum of 256 MB of RAM recommended

  • 20MB of free HD space

  • 800x600 (minimum) 1024x768 (preferred)

  • Windows XP (not including XP 64 bit)

  • Soundcard required for Talk features

  • Dial-Up, LAN or Broadband connection

  • Microphone required for Talk features

  • To view expressions and IM history, you need Flash installed
Q: Who do I contact for questions and comments about this area?
A: Contact Beta Yus or Beta Glenn for your comments and suggestions about the area or the content it contains.

Q: Can I use AIM Triton with an AOL screen name?
A: Yes, users can log onto AIM Triton with both AOL and AIM screen names.

Q: How come I can see my buddy icon but not my wallpaper? Why can't I transfer files? Why can't I start a Live Video or Instant Images session?
A: Not all features available in AIM 5.9 will be available in AIM Triton Beta. Please check the News & Updates section regularly for more information about new features as they are added.

This is a BETA so there may be issues caused by this software.

I use gaim but i would like to see a screenshot of this.

Yup, that's the current version. It doesn't respond to Windows Visual Stlyes/Themes, though, and it takes up a lot of RAM (launches 3 processes)

I didn't even download it. I still use AIM 5.5.3598 with AIM Ad-Hack. Works pretty much flawlessly for me.
