98 FE + 98 SE + ME updates + patches + (hot)fixes

Recommended Posts

Now my AntiVir Software by Avira v7.x has detected two files as possible Trojans, TR/Dldr.Stration.I, they are CRLUPD.EXE and ROOTSUPD.EXE. I was informed by the Forum for AntiVir that there was an update out on the CRLUPD.EXE on Mircrosoft and I downloaded same, size 125Kbytes while the one with your update program is only 45Kbytes. It seems there was an error done by Verisign, "MS01-017: Erroneous VeriSign-Issued Digital Certificates Pose Spoofing Hazard" to quote from the µSoft website. Take a read of this:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/...n/ms01-017.mspx

I have to go back and check for the other file ROOTSUPD.EXE for an update.

If it helps, these are the links to newest files [official from M$]:

I'll also think about what you said about me taking over the 98SE SP. If I do release a new version of the 98se SP, it will have many of the add-ons (WMI 1.5, WMP 6.4, TTF Font Properties Extension, Wintop, etc.) that were included in the 98FE SP.

Great to be able to update your system in a couple installations.

@ erpdude8 That would be great if you can give us a Win98SE SP3

we are in need of it.You and your work is highly appreciated

wether u do it or not, thanks for just the thought of it. :thumbup

PROBLEMCHYLD, I'm NOT making an unofficial 98se SP3. It'll still be a 98se SP2 but will include most of the stuff from the 98 FE SP2 pack.

I'm still recovering from a cold. feeling better now.

estimated release of the new 98se SP might be either Christmas or New Year's

MDGx: speaking of MDAC 911562, the MDAC 2.8 RTM KB911562 breaks WinME Help & Support Center as noted at this page:

http://www.crashfixpc.com/HSfails.htm

The KB911562 patch for MDAC 2.8 SP1 doesnt break ME Help & Support center.

that page also mentions how to re-install Help & Support Center under WinME whenever Help & Support no longer works correctly.

When i install Unofficial DCOM98 Update Full

do i need to install any other updates for dcom98 or this

cover all the updates

Heres a suggestion Packages like Dcom98.exe/KB917344 etc...

why don't you replace the obselete files and repackage with the newer files

it avoids installing like 6 different updates.

Its easier just to install one package with updated files kind of like how u did Q329048

eliminating obselete packages, files and updates

thanks.

I also forgot about 908519/908519fx

Mdac 2.8 sp1/Window Media Player 9

one nice update will be great instead of numerous packages please consider.

last but not least i have Dunzip32.dll/Dzip32.dll Version 5.0.0.8

can you update Q329048?

I was wondering what you were talking about with the *2* time zone hotfix updates... when all along you had the info here. D'OH

I've localized IE922760 with files in italian language (from IE6.0sp1-KB922760-Windows2000-x86-ITA), please can you send me .sed file or I send you a zip so you create installer?
Please send the zip, and I'll post it later on today.

E-mail:

http://www.mdgx.com/form.htm

Please rename ZIP attachment to something like ZI, because it won't accept ZIP/EXE files.

Thanks.

Please post more details [eventually quote from my post] about this so I figure out what you're talking about.

Thanks.
