iPod Help! Not being able to snyc, set to sleep Rate Topic: -----

Hey there I'm havin a problem with my iPod, I had a Belkin 4 AA battery pack and the connector for it kept short fusing my iPod!! Now I can't sync to iTunes, set it to sleep or switch it off with out it being connected to the dock?!?! Does any one know if they can help without me buying a new iPod??

Anyone know how i can set it to diognistic mode??
