I mate just leant me his GT4 cheat CD. And I want a copy of it for myself.

It is in CD format for use on a PS2.

Is there anyway of copying that CD and playing it on a PS2 WITHOUT a mod chip or swap disk?

I heard somewhere that this is possible, but is complicated.

I wish I knew. I've got a sealed copy of Suikoden II I've been dying to play, but there is no way in hell I am going to open it up, so I found an ISO of the game. However, I don't really want to MOD my PS2 if i don't have to, nor do I want to mod the PS1 if I end up *having* to mod something.
