My desktop is an old Athlon T-bird though... I'm probably gonna buy an Athlon64 as a main replacement and make the old comp a proper server.

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe Mobo
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Kingston Dual Channel DDR400 1024MB
Two Maxtor 250GB HDs in RAID 0
16x Dual layer DVD burner
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS Gamer Edition
Two evga GeForce 6800 GTs
Hauppauge WinTV PVR250
And yes, a floppy drive.

Why would you want this chip in a desktop? It's gonna be designed for mobile use with the next generation Centrino laptops. Dual-core and shared caches, all while only using ~25W = massive portable power.

I'm gonna wait until the new Intel Yonnah chip (when they release it) makes the jump from notebook to desktop
