im buying a comp in jan of next year will have about $800 only because im saving up only thing im gonna buy is a new mobo dont care if its amd or intel im not picky same goes for proc , atleast 1gb of ram , video card atleast 256mb & a new tower thats the only thing im picky about

Well, I chose AMD 64 Desktop but I'd never buy a whole new PC again, I'll just keep upgrading what I have.

My professional advise? GET PICKY!

If you want max performance and don't want to just 'waste' your money, buy AMD-64.

AMD has been outperforming Intel since the ol' 486 days.

The upside of AMD? Greater performance, lower cost, lower power consumption and lower HEAT generation.

I don't have a mobo that will support the new AMD-64 chip,,,,YET,,, but that will definitely be my next upgrade.

i'm rebuilding my computer it has a p4 3.2Ghz W/HT and 800FSB

Might be overclocked @ 3.4Ghz

I'd love to have an Intel Pentium M laptop for school and an AMD 64 x2 desktop for gaming.

i'd like to upgrade the processor and gfx card eventually though.

as for my next pc maybe a laptop, but i wont know until prob 2 years :)
