The WSUS is installed on an new installed Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition With SP1. The "To do list" in WSUS administrator page said that:
Check your server configuration
One or more Update Service services could not be contacted. Check your server status and ensure that the Windows Server Update Service is running. Non-running services: SelfUpdate

It seems that the SelfUpdate Service is a sub service of windows server update services, but how can I start it? or my system have some problem.
I use sqlserver 2k with sp3 for the database of WSUS

Hi,
I have the same problem at the moment. On the web I found several possibilities to solve this issue, but they all didn't help. I reinstalled IIS and WSUS, executed the VB-Install-Script in the WSUS-Folder and checked the rights. But that all didn't help. Look at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechn...4cd463d037.mspx, maybe you find something, that could help you, it didn't work for me.

Although, the WSUS seems to be working fine here atm. OK, i still have it in a testing phase, but encountered no problems.

Maybe someone else knows something about it.

I ran the same vb script.. and this solved the problem for me..
