Has anyone here managed to install the Logitech Setpoint 2.31 silently w/o the use of any scripts like that of Logitech's setpoint 2.22 for their bluetooth keyboards? Just wondering...thanks.

I don't know about a switch, I don't use Setpoint drivers or application. All I know is that there is an Autoit script available. It is posted by Volkonov4 in your other topic. I know that it isn't what you would like, but it should be working so why not :D

EDIT:

maybe this topic can help your out

A lot of people use Logitech hardware, but it seems as if there is no switch for the installer atm. AutoIT works fine for me.

I use a Logitech mouse, but I only use the driver, not their software. I've never found mouse and keyboard software all that useful, but it usually swallows up a good chunk of RAM.

How are you silently installing their driver then?

I integrate the driver with the unofficial DriverPack HID.. there's a sticky thread over in the DriverPack forum for the unofficial DPs.

It is standard Installshield (I havde only tried Version 2.6)

Extract the file
"setpoint260.exe /extract_all:C:\SetPoint260"

Run C:\SetPoint260\setup.exe /r (Make rensponse file).

Copy C:\windows\setup.iss to C:\SetPoint260

Run C:\SetPoint260\setup.exe /s to run a silent installation.

Then just plug the mouse and the driver is installed.

Why am I getting the error, "Unable to execute the specified command as I try to exact the file?

Btw, I'm using the latest setpoint 3.10.

Update:

I just tried it on Setpoint 2.60 and it does work, but what happens after the last part of the instruction. I got it to run in silent installation, but where do I go to grab the files to place in my unattended CD afterwards?

Have you tried sending a email to Logitech supprot and asking them if they have a way for it to be installed silently?

I use Installshield to change IS based installers or I do the route that makes a answer sheet. Not the way they stated here since InstallShield allows you to make one that is the way I do it. But, I have found that with some of these newer program versions that most of the time I can not even access their installer.

Try tracking down the Universal Unpacker in these forums use it, if you can. I have the same software so I will try and mess with it and maybe even build a answer sheet that you could use or copy. I can not give you a copy of the InstallShield program though so don't even ask that.

No I haven't, but I figure someone here would know.

I feel like I'm 95% done and I need someone to tell me what to do afterwards so that I can finish off my unattended CD!

Just unzip the setpoint310.exe with 7-zip, after unzipping you'll only need the '1-Setpoint'-directory.
I just completed abroln's procedure and it worked like a charm.

Thanks !
