I cant believe how many people are using 98se just alone over 7 of my friends a few aunts etc etc .its a tribute to the shear speed and recent stabitity and perforance thanks to gapes mdgx etc .now dont get me wrong i use xp everyday in classic mode no fisherprice for this dos cowboy but the ease of use and simplicity cant be equal gotta luv the classics.

You're right, my father-in-law and I use it by choice. Most who use XP do so because it came with a new computer, not because they actually need the features in it.
I recommend 98 SE to anyone who wants to avoid the bloat, activation hassles, security risks, and cost of XP.
Unfortunately I also need to also use Linux to exploit my 64-bit processor fully. Unlike XP 64, 64-bit Linux has been around for a long time. I'm going to stay away from XP 64 as it seems like an afterthought and I've heard there are a lot of problems. It's another example of MS copying and not innovating.
