I have a friend that needs help in word but i don't know how to do that Well heres the Question:

I am trying to do some writing in Microsoft Word and every time I go to
another line in my list the computer decides to number my next item, But I
don't want it to be automatically numbered. I want to be able to do my own
numbering with my own margins that I choose. Is there a way to turn the
automatic format button off without it changing my margins?

Hope you understand what I am trying to ask you.

Quoted from Word's Help file

To turn on or off automatic bulleted or numbered lists
On the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect Options, and then click the AutoFormat As You Type tab.
Under Apply as you type, select or clear the Automatic bulleted lists or Automatic numbered lists check box.
