DMA problems

Recommended Posts

I have a P3 650 MHz, 512 RAM, and a maxtor 21 GB HDD (don't know what model).

DMA doesn't work in Windows. In Device manager, in the primary IDE controller,i have chose in the combo box DMA if available, but it still indicates PIO mode.

The problem is not from BIOS, or the IDE cables, cause using KNOPPIX linux, my DMA works. It just doesn't work under windows

Please help

No, I am using Windows's drivers.

I don't have maxtor's drivers (or i don't know if i have). I'll have to look on the cds that came with the PC

If that doesn't work, can you please tell me another way i can fix that?
