I've got both and I've gotta say that I use my desktop mostly just for downloading and running my FTP server. For general purposes, I much prefer my laptop - the feel of the keyboard takes some getting used to, but once you do, it's much nicer.
Not to mention that my laptop is much more powerful than my desktop...

My desktop is for games, burning, a little video-editing and ofcourse storage...
Since I work you can guess what I have the most time for

While the desktop saves you from that issue, it is rather uncomfortable.
So I prefer to use a bed.
...or did I misinterpret the question?

The same here.
Except it's a Notebook. Has a 15" screen. Laptops are usually considered the very small units.
A. Because the price of Notebooks has come down.
B. To get away from all those wires. (Well I do have Modem & Mouse.)
C. Because it only draws 37 Watts power max. and NOT 400 Watt like desktop
D. Because I finally upgraded to Win XP SP2
E. As a stop gap till VISTA gets here.

I use my laptop for most everything since it's perfectly sufficient for most tasks. I don't do much video/photo editing or gaming *sigh* but when I do, I use my vastly more powerful desktop. Unfortunately, it stays turned off much of the time, though when winter comes, I'll be using it for supplemental heat
