Hi guys.
I wonder if anyone on here can help me.
I work in IT support and the IT administartor of our network is off today.
Temporary promotion :P

We have 5 win 2003 servers two of which are DC's.

At the weekend we had a complete shutdown of all servers\switches etc.

Everything internally is working fine but...

We have a support company who looks after our accounting software..

They use a dial up connection to get in, RAS.

They can get onto the main DC but can not RDC or VNC on to any other server. They cant even ping anything.

I can Remote to any server from any server yet they cannot.

Any ideas, I dont know what to do......
Ive tried restarting several services to no avail. :(

Two DC's you mean one PDC and one BDC?

Also what are the other servers roles... that would help too...

Also, assigned IP's right? Any running IIS, PHP, MYSQL, MSSQL, SUS, SMS, AD?

I would say turn them all off then turn them on in order of assigned IP.

Because what it could be is the the others are getting the DNS settings from the PDC and if that's not on first it's screwing something up.

2003 has no such thing as a PDC or BCD

I we need more specifics.. you say they can get into one DC.. is this the one they dialed into or another one.. How did they "Get into it"?

If they dialed into the one DC and cant access any other network node then RRAS is not routing their requests onto your lan.

What are the servers rolled and which one are they dialing into?
