You may not have appropriate rights. Details: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.ok i never had that problem couple days ago. what the heck is up with that error? and i am on an administrator account and the only person to use this comp. anyone help? Guest LouCypher Posted November 9, 2001 Share Posted November 9, 2001 You might have inadvertantly changed an option in there that disabled your access to run gpedit.msc. If you did then it's probably a registry item hidden deep that is preventing the access. Trying to remove policies via RegEdit is a b*tch IMHO.If it's JUST a corrupted GPEDIT.MSC file then you can extract it from the GPEDIT.MS_ file in the I386 directory on your XP CD. Overwrite the corrupt GPEDIT.MSC with the extracted one might fix it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
