ok im having lots and lots of fun trying to configure DNS for two domains in seperate forests. Ok so for one domain a set up a forward lookup zone example.local configure everything fine like zone transfers and name servers.. etc and it works fine. DNS automatically creates all the subfolders like _sites, _tcp, _udp etc which go under the example.local folder.

Same as when i set up a secondary zone i can configure everything properly and it automatically creates all the sub folders underneath the secondary zone folder.

So this works fine I can ping this domain just by the domain name (example.local)

but now when i go to set up the second domain after i configure everything like name servers and zone transfers, exactly in the same way in which i have configured the first server and none of the subfolders get created! (so none of the_sites _tcp, _udp) apart from that i set up everything up right and i cannot ping the domain name example2.local. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!!!. I know i can set up these folder manually but its a b***h of a job and there are some folders which i dont know the settings for.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling DNS and i get this same problem, Im using windows server 2003 standard edition on both servers

I need to be able to ping by the domain name so that my trusts work properly...

any help would be great!
