Hi everyone!

Does anyone know some method to convert 6-cd game into a dvd?
Just writing the contents of all cds into one root folder doesn't work.
It installs but doesn't start, crashing with an error. :(

I failed to find any guide to make it.

Can anyone help? :}
Thank you in advance!

make iso files of each disk. then burn all the 6 iso files onto dvd as iso files itself...
then install daemon tools, and mount each disk as you want...

there is a way to do it without daemon tools. the way pretty much says that it is a dvd version instead of cd. just search google if u really want to know it but the above method will work fine.

That's not the way I want it to be.
Why I'd like to have one DVD instead of 6 CDs is to install it at once, without the need to change disks 6 times and be sitting in front of monitor waiting for game to ask me to insert next one.

found this for ya, give it a try

Make a folder on Hardrive, name it UT2004_CD1 (This will be the title to the final DVD)
Copy all the contents of CD1 to this newly created folder.
Then starting with CD2, JUST COPY THE FOLDERS to the newly created UT2004_CD1 folder.
Overwrite any folders that are the same (ie: the ‘help’, ‘Texture’ folders etc)
Do the same with CD3, CD4, CD5 and CD6 JUST COPY THE FOLDERS over,
Now add another folder for the Updates, Patches and Cracks etc. Name this folder whatever you choose.
Now open the ‘Autorun.inf’ with Notepad and you need to add the line: open=autorun.exe
Like this:

[autorun]
open=setup.exe
icon=help\unreal.ico

open=autorun.exe

Now burn to a DVD using the Label: UT2004_CD1

Thanks everyone for your answers, I'll try to make a DVD one more time.
Can anyone compare the Setup.exe's from CD and DVD versions?

What's interesting - game installs correctly.
It doesn't ask anything unexpected, no errors, everything's fine.
Uninstalls also without any troubles.

Just doesn't want to run.

I installed latest patches, no effect...

i could compare them, im wondering if the dvd will only accept a dvd key and if a cd will only allow a cd key

what do u mean it doesnt run? could be that it need the cd? or is this the game where they made a patch that doesnt require the cd?

Please, if no difficult.
And if they're different, could you send or share through rapidshare.de or similar service the DVD's Setup.exe?
Thank you in advance.

It starts and instantly exits with an error, not even showing the startup logo.
It doesn't need the CD, cause I use no-cd patch, if I install original version. The latest patches from creators make game don't require the source to be installed in drive. It was so since Unreal Tournament of '99.

There are differnt patches for each version (I.E. CD version and the DVD version, so make sure YOU get the CD VERSION of a patch)... now... if u give me the CD version of Setup.exe(root of the disc) ut2004.exe, setup.exe (under the CD-ROM Drive:\CD1\System\)... PM for my email...

No, there are no different patches for CD and DVD version.

I attach my version of Setup.exe, which is from CD.

The error message is

and it appears right after the splash image is shown.

Tried installing from my 6 CDs once more. Flawless.

Any ideas?

On your first disc i need the setup.exe from here<<G:\CD1\System\Setup.exe>> it should be approx. 438 kb... You sent me the AutoRun for the Setup file I need... all that is in that file said, "Open \CD1\system\setup.exe" In laymans terms that is...

If you use daemon tools to mount an iso of the play disk it will let you know if it wont run because of a cd check or if it is a corrupt file created by the no-cd patch
