Overview
From now on we're going to have a little contest (just for fun ;)) and we're going to start by creating a nice, eyecandy icon.
If you want to participate but don't have the necessary skills, don't give up, there are plenty of tutorials waiting for you on the net. You can use google to find them or visit the tutorial's sticky at this same section.

Submission
Use any image format (preferably either .jpg, .gif .png or .ico) for submissions, created with any photo manipulation or designing program such as Photoshop, GIMP, PSP or Freehand.
A reasonable size should be 128*128 or similar. Image must be an original piece of artwork, believe me, we'll take care of those copying others.

At the time of uploading your work, try to find an external mirror (http://www.eazyshare.com) or free image hosting (http://www.imageshack.us).

We aren't professionals so we aren't going to flame you either if it's too good or too bad, just do your best and make a little try.
If you used any kind of reference or tutorial it would be great if you can link it in the same post.

There's no limit for submissions, and after a period of time (one month or more if necessary) will try to find the best of them by voting first on this thread the finalists and then a poll with the 3/4 more popular :)

Awards
There's no monetary award or any kind of recompense appart of the honor of being the BEST of the month :thumbup

I'm not really any good at icons and after seeing Paul Boyer's (Mormegil) Icon-A-Day efforts, well, I can't do this..

Yum-ping, yippedy, yikes!!!!

What tremendous icons they are. Posted Image Does Microsoft have any icon designers this good?

I suppose the VISTA icons are going to be bigger because you do loose some detail in the new icon designs at small sizes.

More a humorous banner or button man myself..... Posted Image

This is the first time I make an icon so please give opinions.

It took me only 10 minutes to do it so don't expect any proffesional look.

For people using Shareaza.
