can microsoft office be modified not to ask for username and serial
i want to put it on the cd so it will install without asking for it

http://unattended.msfn.org/. Go to intermediate users, applications, then office XP or 2003. Chose the advanced method, this stores your details and serial in the installation, plus a lot of other config options.

You can create an administrative installation. It will ask for this information only once. Be sure to adhere to your license agreement.
