You dont have to buy it and it is not a trial version. You canget a serial number through their site. For Delphi 6 itself, I found it here after some searching. You will need to activate it and get a serial number from their site before you can use it.

The magazines give you Delphi 7 though; not sure if it makes apps require the .NET framework. Anybody have a link to download it though (Personal Ed.)? :)

since you can write regular c with c++ builder, but not c++ with turbo c, you might as well get c++ builder. In any event you will have to learn c first before you get into the OO aspects of c++.
