So far, individual switchless installers for Flash (IE) and Flash (FF / NS ) are done...
Just trying to get the individual shockwave installer to install into FF at the moment - works with IE thus far.
Regards,
N.

System wide settings can be stored in a file called MMS.cfg, and stored in the
%systemroot%\System32\Macromed\Flash directory.
These settings control everything from security, to autoupdate settings. They are system wide, not per user.
** This does not show any visible affect on the Flash Settings Manager, it will still appear to work, however all changes are ignored, as quoted in the linked doc:
Quote
however, appear functional.
Check out more about the MMS.cfg in the Macromedia Flash Player 7 Security Whitepaper

I just downloaded your file for Flash8 (IE) and will test it soon.
Prior to reading this thread, I found another thread on the MM support forums by someone who had troubles getting Flash to install silently. Someone replied, saying that the topic starter should go through the licensing thingee, after which he'd get other installers. I did the same and downloaded the files I needed. I already had a non-licensed full MSI installer for Flash8 so I tried that first. I created an executable with IExpress with the following command:
msiexec /i flash8ie.msi /qb!
Then I made another executable for the licensed MSI of Shockwave 10, using this command:
msiexec /i shwave10.msi /qb!
Both installers worked fine when I tested them on an existing installation of Windows, but failed during a fresh installation made with HFSLIP.
Flash 8: Internal error
Shockwave 10: Network communication error
I hope I'll get better results with your file and I can't wait for the Shockwave installer.....

Internal Error 2103. 26
I was having good hopes about this because your file was 4KB larger than mine, but apparantly the problem is still there.
I give up.

Too many screens to wade through!
Anyways, finally got the required files for installing flash player & shockwave plugin, silently.
It turned out to be too simple, just get the MSI & run it with "/QB" switch!
These links will always be for the latest version for the corresponding player (regardless of version mentioned in description):
Flash 8 (for IE) - http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flash...er_active_x.msi (1.6 MB)
Flash 8 (for other plugin-based browsers : firefox, mozilla, flock, kmeleon, opera, etc) - http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flash...ayer_plugin.msi (4.4 MB)
Flash 7 (for browsers on linux) - http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/shock..._7_linux.tar.gz (967 KB)
Shockwave Player 10.1 (windows, all browsers) - http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwa...l_installer.msi (4.2 MB)
Shockwave 10.1 (reduced version, use only if really needed) - http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwa...m_installer.exe (2.1 MB)

I got Flash 8 to work; this is the command I use in the silent installer I made for it:
msistub flash8ie.msi /qb-! ALLUSERS=1
The "ALLUSERS=1" fixed the internal error I talked about earlier, and it allowed Flash 8 to be installed properly. Too bad this "fix" doesn't cut it for Shockwave 10 (no error message shows, but it doesn't install either).
BTW... There's no need for the licensed installer of Flash 8; the full "non-licensed" MSI does the trick too.
