:hello: Hello Everyone,

Hope you can help me on this one, if this topic has been already posted and discussed please let me know where and I will search. If not I hope you guys can help me...

I have completed an UA DVD all good, works nicely and thanks to those that have helped me.

Now I am being asked to also install Multilanguage package for off2k3 and OS XP (Japanese). I have the cd's for the multilanguage package, how do I go about getting this installed. Mind you I dont need to set it up as Japanese I just need to install the packages. Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance,
Express

Hi,

MUI Installation is easy.

For the office mui you can create a *.MST with the office resource kit.

Installation of the XP MUI is also pretty easy.
muisetup.exe" /i 0411 /d 0409 /r /s

/i 0411 = Install japanese (0411 is for japanese)
/d 0409 = default language (0409 is english)
/r specifies that the reboot message should not be displayed
/s specifies that no messages will be displayed during installation

Hope this is of any help.

Hi Refuse_

I was unable to get this to work :( can you lend a hand? I am sure I did something wrong. I get an error telling me an instance is already running.

So should I use Custom Installation Wizard and create a new .MST for mui?

This didn't work for me either. :(

To install the MUI language packs while you are installing MS Office look into using the /chained command in your .mst file. That will allow you to dove tail the language pack install after you install the Office software.

There is information on the MS site about this in an older book titled something like Deploying Office 2000; Notes from the field.

Hope this helps.

I am in the process of redoing my office .mst and will look to see where I can do this from. I was wondering can i install the mui after office has installed so in my RunonceEx.cmd maybe i can add a second line like this?

REG ADD %KEY%\015 /VE /D "Microsoft Office 2003" /f
REG ADD %KEY%\015 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Application\Office2003\setuppro.exe TRANSFORMS=Unattended.MST /qb-" /f

REG ADD %KEY%\016 /VE /D "Microsoft Office 2003" /f
REG ADD %KEY%\016 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\install\Application\Office2003\MUISETUP.EXE TRANSFORMS=UAMUI.MST /qb-" /f

Do you think this would work??? or am i just wishing it would????

Thanks,
