Hi all,
i wanna help in burning 900 MB CD which is my PE CD
i wanna to know how to burn it using Nero 6 Ultra Editon and how also i can burn it with Cdrwin v4
Btw,My ISO cd is 888 MB (i c this when i click properties) but in this pic u will see that it is 909 MB CD so i wanna to know is it 900 MB or i need to reduce it to 900 MB

first, you have to enable overburning to that size and than burn cd in dao mode.

Where do you see that it is a 909 MB image? It's only 888 MB or 909648 kB or 931479552 B.
DAO means disc-at-once, don't ask me what it is but just burn the image using that method. You should be able to choose that before burning it with nero.
Overburning is a setting in Nero Burning ROM. File | Preferences... | Expert Features.
888 MB is to much to burn on a 700 MB CD. Normally there only fits 730 - 740 MB on it. You will have to buy a 800 MB CD and overburn it or a 900 MB CD. I'm not sure wether the latter exists.

a quick google for '900mb cd' popped up a few sites, the first one being http://www.mam-e.com...mb_golden.phtml.
there is also an over-burning guide available from a link on the same page or downloaded from http://download.mam-...rning_guide.pdf.
This allows you to burn the full 900mb onto the disk with Nero.

You can buy 900MB CDR's...but since they aren't standard you have to watch out for many things:

1. Will the burner support it? Maybe
2. Will the software support it? Nero will
3. Will the reader support it...this is the trickiest part, as many lasers seem to stop well before the 800MB limit, let alone 900MB.
4. They are even more fragile, as you are essentially burning to the edge, which means if you drop the CD and smash an end it's probably fubar.

Your best bet is to look into a DVD, or maybe throttle back all the extra files...I haven't seen a BartPE CD that big in...well...ever!

You can all kinds of CD-Writers supporting 32x for CD-RW but media is difficult to find & at best dicey.

Sanyo announced a writer supporting 900 mb cd natively but did not make much headway in the market since DVDs became so cheap.

bcz insted of corrupting the disc by over burning it,dvd is better.

Never even tried too , be aware that on some (supposedly low-quality) drives the "extra effort" for reaching the "increased" area on the CD may result in mis-alignments/breakage of the lens supporting/moving parts, and some (supposedly older) drives simply cannot "reach" that area.

Rule of the thumb is: until you stay around 700÷750 Mb use CD's, if you need more, use DVD's.

you can burn up to about 1gb on a regular 700mb 80min CD all at ease with one of those Plextor DVDRW drives cost around $75. checkout newegg or tigerdirect

Hmmm, and AFAIK the resulting CD will ONLY be readable on the same drive or on another identical one....

...an entire new meaning to the word "portability"...

Feature is called GigaRec. This was introduced at Plextor Premium, a CD writer.
Later true Plextor drives support GigaRec too.
Remember Plextor dosn't manufactur drives anymore. Today that's OEM drives with a Plextor label.
Have a look for GigaRec at product manual.

Most drives should read GigaRec factor 1.2 (read 840mb data at 700mb media).
Of course reading is not guaranteed.
I'm using 'cdrecord driveropts=gigarec=1.2'

A average drive dosn't read GigaRec factor 1.4 (980mb data at 700mb media).
The same drive or on another identical one is required.
