Is there a hardware device that connects your VCR to your computer via a USB port to transfer video? I remember seeing one of these on TechTV...

Not that I know of, now I have one of these and it works great.

Hmmmmmmmm.....I had seen something that you plugged into your USB port, but I guess that is about the same...Can you record with that?

You can also use your video card for that, most Geforce and Radeon cards have RCA and svideo in built in.

ADS makes somthing that would do the job...and its olny around 50 bucks!

yah you can record TV, VHS, DVD....you can convert it to WMP file, .mov files, mpeg and mpeg2.

BTW its also a FM tuner and it only cost me 35 bucks.

yes, i have something similar to xperties, I also have a TV-Card that works fine for this stuff.. just hook it up into the yellow TV in jack and start recording..

check out Tomshardware....the new article on day 2 at Cebit has a product review of something similiar to what I think you're looking for....maybe Pinnacle movie box USB :)
