Microsoft® Office 2003 Service Pack 2 contains significant security enhancements, in addition to stability and performance improvements. Some of the fixes included with SP2 have been previously released as separate updates. This service pack combines them into one update.

this is unbelievable! at last Micrsoft released the SP2 for their gr8 Office 2003

1- Slipstreaming Over SP1
2- Unattneded Install
3- Shrinking (Does the buckeyeXP Shrinker still works here?!)
4- Reg Tweaks

Slipstreaming is the exact same as for SP1. Just change the file names appropriately and all goes well.

Unattended install as well.

Dunno about shrinking... I just compress.
Tweaks, probably the same. Just guessing though.

@prathapml - I can't see any notice of new features. I haven't noticed any new ones either from having installed it on my current installation either.

FP 2003 makes use of the same file/update as the main office2003 set. In other words, download #1 (the 104 MB file), thats the same SP2 update, to be used for both, the office2k3 CD1 (base) as well as CD2 (FP 2003).

Do you think we can keep the same Unattended.MST or do we have to rebuild one for SP2 ?

a couple of things I noticed while trolling the microsoft office admin site...there is a new setup.exe for admin installs that changes the localsource settings...Also...read the whole article and it should be noted that sp2 DOES NOT include the latest Outlook Junk Email Update...you must add this to your slipstream process. Im actually going back to the CD I bought of Office 2003 and creating an admin install point and then slipping the updates (meaning it wont have SP1 on it already)

It didn't work :}

I don't know if it's due to Office Shrinker or the MST file because the size folder after shrinking is almost the same as before, and it said it was complete.

It failed because one font was missing. See the attachment.

Any ideas ?
Thank you.

I believe youre gonna have to start with the full source and reshrink...I just assumed it wouldnt work from an already shrunk source...but now we have proof.

Yes... You cannot update a shrunk source. You need to build from scratch and then reshrink from there.

@evilvoice - The setup.exe that you mentioned, that's not the same as the Custom Installation Wizard, is it? I just used that to make my silent installs and all went well.

It was from a full source.

Well, i added all the files missing to the install directory, there were about a dozen. I think i'll just rebuild my 7zip archive from that. It suppose it should keep fine like this ?

Thanks.

EDIT : The install finished but Powerpoint complains now about the chipart missing and don't want to let use it. There's something going really bad ...

EDIT 2 : Alright, fixed now. I just didn't install from a *real* clean install since i first uninstalled Office 2003. About the Powerpoint issue, i had to modify my MST and add all the cliparts. Without them, Powerpoint always complained at startup. Don't know why ... it didn't happen with SP1.
