@pdxrob: Both of the changes you are requesting have already been requested previously.

1. It would be best not to discuss this publicly as it is NOT A SUPPORTED FEATURE. Please PM me for details.

2. glentium started a discussion about such an implementation. However, the authors haven't reached much of a consensus on it or discussed it much.

the IE7 integration doesn't seem working on my language. After I install the system and open up the internet explore... the about menu tells me that it is IE6 instead of IE7.. However, WMP11 works fine. Log attached.

Thanks for the great work you have put in the slipstreamer :)

In my language ie7 dont wont to install too, but i have solved my last problem with tv tuner, i dont know what exactly was the reason but in version 1.1 and 1.2 all works ok. I'll try to find a way to install ie7, maybe the installation works only on english windows or there are wrong switches.

@ctpoon

I downloaded the CHT version and see nothing out of the ordinary with it. It should've worked. Can I take a look at SVCPACK.INF from SOURCESS\I386?
BTW... If you use the latest test release, you can change KB926139 to KB926140 in your language.

@grzesiek

I couldn't find a Polish version to dissect. Could that be the reason it failed?
The switches are universal; they work for every language in which IE7 is made available. I also tested this completely with XPSP2 English and XPSP2 Dutch.

Hmmm...given that some people are still having problems with non-English versions, it's possible that the problem lies with the handling of KB898543 for localized languages.

But I'll let Tomcat deal with it. ;)

Wondering...

1) XP Home or Pro?

2) Do the programs which you put in HFSVCPACK install correctly?

3) Do you see IE7.EXE in SOURCESS\I386\SVCPACK?

4) Do you see this line near the bottom of SVCPACK.INF in SOURCESS\I386?

IE7.EXE /quiet /norestart /update-no /nobackup

5) If your answer is "yes" for questions 2,3 and 4... does IE7 install properly if you remove both WMP11 and KB898543-v3?

During ie7 installation there is step to validate a copy of windows, i dont know if this is during silent install. So maybe because this ie dont want to install for some people, because they have not good copy :whistle: .

The only difficulty is: that reg value would be inserted before IE7 is installed. If the IE7 installer overwrites it again, I'll have to switch the order around of the programs in SVCPACK.INF so I can embed a REG ADD in HFSLIP.CMD that's executed AFTER IE7 is installed.

OK, guys. Try the latest test release; it installs IE7 at first GUI logon. :)

@Tomcat

It does not install. The dos part of the setup says that the file cannot be copied, but its in the i386 folder, and in txtsetup.sif.

Any chance of it get slipstreamed again? It was working (with issues, but working).

I just tested the "GUI version". I got no copy error (and it installed at first GUI logon as expected).

I can't have HFSLIP slipstream IE7 because of the problems. I'll look into it again next year.
