hi all infoknights, :hello:

I want a small help in MS-Excel!

Is it possible to freeze mulitple panes?

what i mean is that suppose Row "A" in an excel file has the list of students name (say some 5 students).
Column "1" has their correponding register numbers.
is it possible to freeze both "A" and "1", such that datas are kept on entering seeing the name n number side by side w/o hassle?

is that possible?
if yes how? :thumbup

please respond!

regards,
ootsoo

hi all,:hello:

the net(/forums) helped me to get an answer for my query..

Suppose i hve an excel sheet like this..

| A | B | C | D
1 | X
2
3
4

if i need to freeze the pane so that row " | A | B | C | D " should stay unmoved if i scroll down..
and column "1
2
3
4 "
shld not move if i scroll to my right..

the solution is too simple...
make X the current cell and freeze panes. This will freeze the row above and column to the left of it.

so the thumb rule is

" go to the cell that is exactly 1 cell below and right to the intersection point and freeze panes there. "

is that fine.

bye
regards,
Ootsoo
