Looking for instructions on creating a bootable DVD for an unattended install of XP. I'm
not looking to make a multi-boot DVD but i've tried these guides as a starter, build the
ISO (cdimage) but can't actually burn the ISO to DVD using Nero - it keeps expecting
CD media.
Thanks.

In Nero go to
Recorder
--Burn Image
Find and select your iso
On the next window in the upper left corner change from CD to DVD.

Sorry, i'm using Nero Express so the process is a little different...
When I first open Nero Express I specify the recorder I would like to use
(NEC DVD-R/W) then select "Disc Image". The next page allows me to set
the burn speed, verify options, etc but the recorder defalts back to CD-R/W
and DVD-R/W is no longer an option in the list. If I try to burn I get an error
re: wrong media. Burning straight data DVD's from this machine is not an
issue, so the problem is somewhere in the ISO.

What is the size of your iso file?
I think that nero automaticly selects cd-rw or dvd-rw from file size.
Try inserting cd-rw and see what happends

According to the Nero website, Nero Express doesn't allow ISOs created for CDs to be burned onto DVDs. Nero does not have that limitation.

UltraIso can change the media size to DVD and allows burning through it's nero plugin.
Alcohol can burn a cd ISO file on DVD media (as well as set the book type to dvd-rom.)
Blindwrite (if I'm not mistaken) can ignore the size issue and allow cd ISO to be writtem to DVD as well.
