Posted Image PNG Format

Clicky The PSD (Photoshop)

I've tried just making the image smaller and then making an ico out of it, but it looks kinda weird.

also there is Aveiconifier
just drop png file and drag the result icon from it...

edit: but i had test your file...although the png is transparent, the result icon needed extra edit so the background be also transparent.

if you know just a bit of PS you can make multiple sizes from the image (128*128 to 16*16), then just drag and drop all the .png files to gif movie gear (shareware version available at http://www.gamani.com/) and save it as .ico (animated .gif, .avi, .cur, etc are available too :))

i find paint express to be extremely useful little program for converting pngs to icons, it even supports 32bit bmps. :D

Ok this thread is a month old but since nobody pointed it out...

There's a free .ICO exporter for Photoshop and it still gets updated every once in awhile. I've used it for years since PS5 and it still works in PS CS2. It works for the PC and there are 2 different Mac flavors (old and new Mac).

http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/

To use it:
1. Exit Photoshop
2. Put the .8bi file in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Plug-Ins\ or similar folder
3. Re-size your image to your proper icon size (128x128, 64x64, 32x32, 16x16).
4. If you want a transparent icon make sure you have multiple layers and the bottom layer is turned off (ala transparent gifs)
5. File > Save As > .ICO

Well don't know if this is of any use to ya'll since ya seem to be using expensive apps :o
But one of the best Icon editors I've come across is SnIco Edit
Although it's largest import size is 255x255, anything larger than that would need to be resized by IrfanView or the like first.
