wpi causing asms parameter incorrect?

Recommended Posts

I've posted on this before but didn't get anywhere with the help i was receiving...

I've tried better media, reburning on different discs, reburning different ISOs... but everytime I try something, when I install straight from the ISO into a virtual machine without burning to a DVD, it works... when I burn the image to a DVD and install to the same virtual machine, it doesn't work...

I've read about somebody else having this same problem, a few people actually, and one of them took out some of the programs that were being installed by WPI and it worked again...

has anybody else had this problem? it seems to be very rare, and there's no direct cause for it that I can find... but I've got so many programs that WPI installs, I just can't see myself starting over from scratch... especially since my original disc is fubarred :( please help - Thanks! - TruRomeo4Juliet

Try this link:

Also try searching for GDIPLUS

but i'm not using nLite or RyanVM's update packs (yet) ... the RVM packs cause installation errors for some reason (problems with copying some files [kodak.somethin or other, srgb.icm, streamci.dll, etc.. the list gets longer]) I don't know what the deal is...

I'll search for GDIPLUS right now... get back soon

THE KODAK BUG (issue really) :thumbup

Tired of the "Streamci.dll "file errors.

many people are,

it is because you are using the wrong driver.cab file. ( technically)

the correct cab is 74.902mb in size yours is missing the below files.

to correct my disk, I:

found a VLK 5x1 CD disk.

I went to /root/Cprof/i386:driver.cab, on this CD.

any corp pro disk will work fine the above has all 5 flavors so it was easy.

copied to my nlite image , i386 folder , re- ran , nlite with existing template.

built it and ran ms virtual PC and now it , installs and boots and runs.

I hope I have helped some poor sole.

how to diagnose.

look at error. then look at CDR (or img) then try to find the missing file in i386 , if not there then look

inside each cab file , if not there it is missing! the installer is not lying to you.

( if you get read errors , your cdrom drive is (garbage) as is all made before 1999, look at sticker !)

then do the same with a retail box or VLK (volume license kit) disk and you will find all the below

files in the driver.cab, so if yours is missing then your (Distro) is "how shall I say, not up to par".

The solution is a real valid driver cab file. ( or distro)

maybe someone will post a drivercab.zip some time. ( IRC , help)

GOOD LUCK and Send Money to Nlite people , they deserve it !

ERROR LOG: :realmad:

errors, during copy files install......xp pro SP2 slipstreamed......starts at 38% yellow bar, on .
