MS-DOS doesnt support SATA ? isn't it ?
so im using FreeDOS ,
how to create a free DOS boot disc with format,fdisk etc commands and SmartDrive
to XP start setup directly frm HDD
---to avoid istalling frm CD and do it frm HDD --might speedup installation, ?

Oh Yes
i hav SATA-I HDD
in that 1 partition is FAT32 --remaining 4 are NTFS
by booting frm FreeDOS floppy it mounted the FAT32 partition as C:\
i can access it with R/W support
but only in 8.3 format

On both MS-DOS and FREEDOS, you need a Long File Name TSR:

Latest release and patches for freedos can be found on the home page:

Also latest version of DRDOS/OPENDOS:
http://www.drdosprojects.de/
should be FAT32 and LFN compatible.
