is there any way of installing it on Home, i tried what loucypher, found this entry in sysoc.io=inf

iis=iis.dll,OcEntry,iis.inf,hide,7

removed the hide so it reads

iis=iis.dll,OcEntry,iis.inf,,7

but it didn't make any difference, same with a couple of the others I un-hid.

Oh well. I haven't ran the home version, but even on the pro I wouldn't install anything to do with IIS on my system. I just noticed it was one of the new things that popped up under Windows Components when I took out all the "hide" entries. Never tried to install or run it. I guess that's why it's one of the hidden entries in home edition.

When it appears under pro's Windows Components it give the option of installing SMTP, FTP, WWW, and other servers. Which leads me to wonder if you had all these things installed what more the Server edition of XP (or .NET or whatever it's called) is going to have?

if you want a server machine now.. why not use Linux? or Win2k Advanced server? or even install apache ( if it will on xp ) are you wanting this for testing purposes or hosting a site? if its the first, id try apache

or get hold of a copy of XP Pro, but even beter would be what lou said.. Xp .NET when the finals out
