I'm curious what the word is on using excel vs access for database programming. I will be using some math and stats while at the same time requiring a number of people to make changes and update databases without spending hours inputing data from large lists. so therein lies my dilemma...what is better excel or access. any and all opinions are very much appreciated. thanksRigs Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Antares Posted July 28, 2003 Share Posted July 28, 2003 neither one nor the other, y not use both together? Judging by what you are describing, that sounds like the most logical and sound route. You can import Excel data into an Access DB with absolutely no problem at all. Ie, keeping records, allowing other people to access your information and make changes with restricted access if you wished. Excel on the other hand, was designed for calculations, such as payroll's etc.My recommendation would be to use Access for what you need to do.
