I've been a slashdotter since I first got on the intarweb. Add to that that the founders are from my hometown and I have to vote for /.

well slashdot is more technical and is sticking with its roots: Open Source, Linux, Tech news.

Digg is expanding to cover all topics. Its always got breaking news, but it suffers from dupes.

slashdot wins (but for how long :) )

i prefer Digg, mainly cause if you ever look at the comments on /. about anything software related it becomes "d00dz b1ll g473z is 3v1l" and it kinda gets old, so my problem is not thes site so much as the community
