Hi,

for years I have annoying problems with Invalid Page fault during system startup. They are related to Fineprint and pdfFactory dipatchers.

Every 3rd to 5th boot I get the following Invalid Page Fault (it is in Czech but I believe it is no big problem to read it):

Datum 11/05/2005 Čas 15:14
Aplikace SPOOL32 způsobila neplatnost stránky

Sometimes (every 10th to 20th boot) different IPF error appears:

Datum 10/24/2005 Čas 22:44
Aplikace FPDISP5A způsobila neplatnost stránky
v modulu FPUI5A.DLL na adrese 019f:2a0197bd.

The only way how to continue the work without reboot is to kill both dispatchers by Ctrl-Alt-Del and restart them manually, then eerything is OK.

I have reported this problem to the author long time (years) ago but no improvement.

I know there are many KB articles like http://support.micro...com/kb/q191949/ but I found no help.

Does anybody have any idea how to rectify this problem?

Is there anybody with the same problem?

Petr

I have been trying several virtual Pdf printers, albeit not the one you are using and found they were all creating some bugs/problems. Now when I want to convert a document to Pdf, I import it into Open Office and output it as pdf.

You might also well be inspired to look for alternatives to Fineprint for ink saving. I know there are some albeit I couldn't tell you which ones as I don't use a bubblejet printer but a laser one and hence never got interested by that.

Also have you tried to boot logged and see with Bootlog Analyzer or Bootlog Examiner if something else does not negatively interfere. For example the Seagate tape drivers that are compulsorily installed by MS Backup, which you might have installed, are known to create all sorts of problems on some systems.

Do you mean SPOOL32.EXE or SPOOLSS.DLL?

I mean SPOOLSS.DLL. :) But you can try both of them, too.
