hi, i have a problem with msn messenger. it crashes when i want to use voice, video, app sharing, remote assistance,... on everything it crashes except on text and sending/receiving files.

i tried then to run windows messenger but an error occured and it didn't open. then i removed msn plus!, msn messenger 5.0. the i went to start->run-> "RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove", rebooted. windows told it has removed windows messneger. then i tried to re-install windows messenger and again, error ocured. so i couldn't install it. removed again everything, rebooted, installed msn messenger and again.. it crashed!!!

i even used system restore, but it didn't restored anything good.

please help if you know how!!!

thanks

Have you updated to Dx9.0a? I remember the first 9.0 release had issues with Messenger, but I couldn't remember what exactly.

my version of direct x 9 (from dxdiag) is:

DirectX 9.0 (4.09.0000.0900)

this is what is solves 9.0a: Resolves an issue with DirectX 9.0 where some multiplayer games or MSN Messenger may not work correctly Minor bugs resolved.

so,.. what are that msn messenger issues? :s

You've said it yourself Gregor "MSN Messenger may not work correctly Minor bugs resolved." :)

Interesting. Very interesting.

Did you try updating to MSN 6? MSN 5 used to work like yours does, then I switched to Trillian Pro and when MSN 6 came out I tried it, and it worked.

Try it.
