i registered for the trial version of r2. it has 2 cd's. do i have to download the 2. or should i just get the second disc? i already have the win2k3 server sp1.

you only need the second cd....if you already have Server 2003 SP1 installed....the first CD is Server 2003 SP1.

Yeph, CD1 is Windows Server 2003 SP1 and CD2 is just the R2 Components.
And if you copy the CD2 root into CD1, R2 components slipstream during instalation and the CD1 size stays under 700MB. This way you can have only one CD that installs Server 2003 SP1 with R2 components allready slipstreamed

You need 2 CD, the downloaded trail Win2003 is enterprise edn. You need to install the trial ver win2003 on the 1st CD and update to R2 using 2nd CD. Trial ver is 160 days.
The cd-key on the trial CD will not work on you present win 2003. You need to get the CD from you suppliers.

so if i have server 2003 enterprise i can just slipstream the trial cd2 into it and have server 2003 r2??
