This is a switchless Installer for MSN Messenger 7.5.0324 The installation is based on a MSI which i created. Upon installation: no msn toolbar, no msn search, no msn home, it will create a desktop shortcut, and a quicklaunch shortcut During install, you will see 'MSN Messenger 7.5 (modified)' and also Under Add/Remove Programs the same message is displayed. The handwriting TAB will work from default.

Unmodified version Get it here (7.24meg)

Patched version Get it here (7.24meg)

Here are the Patched settings I used...

Contact List Window:

Remove MSN Logo
Remove Messenger Title
Remove MSN Today Button
Remove My Space Button
Add Sign Out Button
Remove Search Bar
Remove Button Text
Change Display Picture Link
Remove Advertisement
Disable MSN Spaces Contact Card Integration
Remove Bottom Links in Sign In Window
Remove Microsoft Passport Network Branding
Fix Add Contact Bar Position
Add Always On Top Button

Instant Message Window:

Remove MSN Logo
Remove Block Button
Remove Color Button
Remove Search Button
Remove Backgrounds Button
Remove Packs Button
Remove What’s Hot Button
Remove Standard Toolbar Text
Remove Formatting Toolbar Text
Remove Advertisement
Remove To:Bar
Remove Webcam Icon from To:Bar and Avatar Containers
Remove Nudge Delay
Add Send Buttun to Handwriting Tab
Add mess.be games manually by hex-edit because A-patch didn’t do this correctly
Remove yellow info Bar
Remove "Get a webcam Link"
Add Always On Top Button
Remove "says' text
Offline System Tray
Polygamy
Show Idle Status
Remove File Transfer Protection
Remove Billing Info Menus
Shorten Status Info in Info Bar
Boost PSM to 500 Characters
Install WinAMP Plug-in for Now Playing Feature

If you extract the files from my installer, you can substitute your own hacked files and repackage it. You can replace any currently contained file.

Cant you download the version from M$ and use winzip to extract the MsnMsgs.msi ?
I'd be careful using a hacked messenger.

kartel: you are careful to use hacked MSN but don't you like annoying advertising that comes with it? offers to bye webcam, to bye winks, packs, search and all this crap. do you like it?

@kartel, i'd be careful too, except for a few things, I have been around these forums for almost 2yrs and have made over 300 posts, If i was trying to hack you i doubt i'd leave such a trail, and had been exposed long ago. 2ndly, the uninstall feature is fully functional, and will remove the app completely including the registry entries.

This little package i put together will allow you to record
MSN Messenger streaming video on the fly. I used autoit3 to create the installer.
An icon for the program is placed in the Start Menu under Applications.

This program uses 2 freeware utilities.
1st program / 2nd program
These 2 programs can be fully uninstalled thru add/remove programs.

On my personal computer this installs troublefree. On several testbench computers,
it has an error on install but everything works fine after a reboot.
The program autostarts itself on bootup and places an icon in the system tray.
It begins to record upon connection of a cam to you in MSN Messenger.
When saving the captured video you must choose an apropriate compressor such as Divx or Xvid.
Get it here(932kb)

Shark -

Cool, thanks. Any chance of the autoit3 source ? I would prefer to put elsewhere instead of the Applications group in the Start Menu.

Thanks -

D.

The autoit3 file is setup.exe, it is not protected.
Install.exe contains the following batch commands:

Quote

setup.exe
md "%userprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Applications"
move "%userprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\MSN Webcam Recorder\MSN Webcam Recorder.lnk" "%userprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Applications\"
rd /s /q "%allusersprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\WinPcap"
copy "%userprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\MSN Webcam Recorder\MSN Webcam Recorder.lnk" "%userprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\Applications\"
rd /s /q "%userprofile%\Start Menu\Programs\MSN Webcam Recorder"

I'm not sure why i moved and then copied that shortcut,
i think i just forgot to remove the move comand.

Install.exe is the file exectuted to perform the installation.

If you want to repackage this, use keytotime's guide on creating 7zip switchless installers.

shark007, this is very nice.
i have a few more pet peeves concerning msn and i'm positive you could help me.

1) it won't sign me in automatically, even if i have the related box checked
2) i remove the groups "coworkers", "family" and "friends" and next time i run msn they have been re-created.
3) in message windows; remove "my received files", "see a list of activities" and "see a list of games"

how could i myself remove those?
are you also doing this for other messengers like icq or aim by chance?

edit;nevermind, i just found a-patch, heh.

I havent heard of or had this problem myself, sorry i cant help you on this one

Try this: on the main msn window, go to contacts/sort contacts by/ ... and choose online/offline

To change this, you will need to substitute your own hacked files into my installer and repackage it.

Uninstall any previous version through Add/Remove programs. This installation doesnt change previous settings. There is a checkbox under Tools/Options/Messages to 'Show the Handwriting...' I suggest you look there.

Also, I have updated the Installer again because the Handwiting feature was missing the SEND tab. Download it again today if you downloaded it yesterday.

I'm sorry, but i use dialup to access the internet, you'll have to wait till some good MSFN citizen comes along and offers a mrror to download from. :(
