The John you are right..You need to acquire where you registered your domain. Rather it be with enom or namecheap you can view the mx records there. If your trying to point a domain to another, or park it on top of another that is where you do it.

thanks for the replies guys..
as for the situation...
currently email is hosted externally. we bought exchange 2k, and the owner of the company wants the email moved here (our host is horrible, it took him 5 weeks to add 2 email accounts. any contact is not responded to for at least a week, etc.).
so i need to find out where my domain name was registered to, and have them point the mx/a record to my ip....
anything else i should know?
remember, im not a net admin, but i play one at work...

Man that is horrible. To bad you can't get out of your contract, as you have the ability to add e-mail accounts 24/7 in your own account manager with me.
Anyways, yes find out where your domain was registered. Enom which is what I use for my reseller account (meaning I sell domains) has free e-mail forwarding, so does namecheap.com.

actually, we are paid up till the end of the year. just gonna eat the cost.
im actually kinda excited about it. but im also stressed. trial by fire kinda thing. no test lab, just gonna roll it out and keep my fingers crossed.
we have been having problems already, and there are so many variables. this will help, as long as i can get it running.
i wonder why i drink so much
btw, how much for a domain name? never really looked into it before.. but nothing comes up for pornloader.org (get it? i know its dumb lol). is it even possible to get a .org if im not a non-profit blah blah blah?
