Just use a standalone downloader program e.g. FlashGet. The server seems to be unreliable and tends to disconnect frequently. In the first 10 seconds it had to reconnect 3 times. However I did get ~250KB/s.

Is there a way to get a separate download that doesn't share similar fixes of the Unofficial Service Pack (thus reducing the download size)?

Was wondering how you were able to extract the 905915 Cumulative Internet Explorer Update December 2005 for Windows 98 SE since Microsoft only lets you get it from the Windows Update.

There are really only a few items in your list that I would like to obtain, but can't wait for 24MB to download to my PC using Dial-Up.

I got the 905915 Cumulative Internet Explorer December Update through this
How did you manage to obtain that bit of info? Will the MS Police raid this forum now?

I don't think that MS will care about of that, because the link I've posted is from theire Website and in Google Groups everyone could find the link.

I think it's not a good idea to have included Movie Maker in your pack. Also what are those internet games in the msg folder ?

I think that the included Movie Maker and Internet Games should show that also this applications can run under Windows 98/98SE.

Sounded good, tried it...had some problems I'll report.

1. Downloaded and installed the latest at the dl site. First thing I noticed was that Win Explorer was part German.

2. Upon removal, a number of desktop icons had no graphic, only the default icon when no icon available (but they were available prior to removing this sw!)

2. I removed it and it killed my intellipoint 4.12 drivers (couldn't click the scroll button anymore).

I think it would also be great if there was a selection prompt for which items I want installed or not.

The Upgrade Pack exists in :

English filename:wupg98en.exe

German(Deutsch) filename:wupg98de.exe

@jasinwa

I think you can fix the problem with the scroll button if you download and install the English Version (afterwards you can also uninstall it)

Just one question: What's the difference in philosofy between the Unofficial Service Pack and the Upgrade Pack?

Why did you decide to do this?

I thought USP2.x had all the tested fixes and updates available?

It would be nice to post it in the "Unofficial Win98 SE Service Pack Forum" where all the packs, not only USP are discussed.

TBS it's great to have more poeple working on improving w98. Keep on!

Would you check the language of BROWSEUI.DLL and BROWSELC.DLL in wupg98en.exe please. ;)bugfixen.exe contains german versions of the files!

Hi!

I just like to let you know that I installed the unofficial Win98 SP & it seems alright.

I just like to know howcome the said IE games + other additions/enhancements do not show in the Start-up programs. Does this mean that we have to always run the .bat file to be able to use &/or remove these?

1 more thing, the GUI does not look like Win98 anymore? Doesn't it defeat the purpose of identifying the OS as Win98? Just thinkin ... no offense meant. :P

Thanks much!
