Guest aMb Posted September 7, 2001 Share Posted September 7, 2001 It certainly does sound an odd problem, when one of my Maxtor drives died about two months ago, it was still shown up in the BIOS, but it never showed up in Windows ... just took time for it to eventually die and not be shown in the BIOS.I guess other factors to consider could be a certain IDE controller dying, your software IDE drivers (Via, Intel?), or possibly incorrect settings.
