perhaps it is possible with a switch? don't think so since it is switchless
yes, you can use the /qn switch on my installer

Quote

Hope you don't mind, it is still your installer!
ummmm, no, that's your installer. Mine works from svcpack, yours will fail uninstallation if used from svcpack. Although, if you note that it must be installed after 1st boot (runounceex), it will uninstall properly.

Ofcourse u can simply use the silent Shockwave installer Shark007 has given in the first post. Mine is exactly same but without progressbar.
ummmm, no, mine isnt silent, it's switchless, yours is yours, and it isnt the same as mine. It may contain the same files as mine, but it doesnt have the same functionality.

Attn: Shark

Many thanks for posting your work!

I'm curious about two things:

There is no confirmation windows saying that the files are installed (although they are). Was this by design?

The installers don't work in Windows 98. I get a error message "7-zip, unable to create install folder". What's going on here?

The shockwave installer was UPDATED August 15, 2006. - While using CrapCleaner i noticed missing registry entries causing it to want to delete several of the shockwave entries.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE

I have removed the svcpack compatibility designation.
The installer has not changed but due to issues i've discovered, this installer must be used after 1st boot. My apologies to those affected.

the Macromedia Shockwave player link is down any chance of a repost?

Still can't find a working link to an installation of the shockwave player without Google, Yahoo, Autoupdate, etc. If there isn't a installer I will try to make an MSI by myself...

Please let me know.

GREAT!!

But.. For our distribution I need the MSI. I cannot call the executable with a custom action within another MSI because the swInstaller.exe will extract to an MSI. I Believe that windows installer cannot handle 2 MSI's at the same time...

Do you also have the MSI or is there a way to "extract" the MSI from the swInstaller.exe?

Shockwave player updated to 10.1.4.20

This version has AutoUpdate enabled by default and i havent found a way to turn this off other than visiting this page at ADOBE. To turn it off, right click on the shockwave video and choose 'properties'.

I know there are several registry settings for autoupdate but they dont seem to affect the setting i suggested above.

the key you are searching for is here

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\AutoUpdate

change the value default from "y" to "n"

I'm aware this key exists, but it doesn't turn off the situation i described earlier.
