Hi there,

I've been scratching my head over this Windows Server 2003 Multiboot DVD...

I've followed all the steps in the guide, and yet I still get the message saying that it can't find NTLDR.

I have a suspicion as to where the problem lies: when the guide says to replace i386 with 3STD, instead of finding 4 occurences, the hex editor finds 7! What's worse, if I make the search case sensitive, it finds 5 for i386 and 2 for I386.

Where am I going wrong here?

It's windows server 2003 R2 by the way.

Thanks for the help in advance.

If you mean cracked by me, then yes... just in the editing that I was told to do in the guide. OTherwise I'm not using a cracked version.

you need to use a cracked one, or at least hex edit it yourself.... there is a built-in checksum that needs to be disabled before it will work...the thread is http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=58410&st=0 ...(its the very first sticky.... how did you miss it? :))

FYI this message is issued by the DVD boot sector when it can't load SETUPLDR.BIN from the DVD, it does not have anything to do with cracked SETUPLDR.BIN or not.

Have the exact same problem

My config is:

D:-
__!AIODVD---
...................!___XP_2---
...................!setupldr.bin
....................................!___SETUP (windows XP install files)
__xp2.bin

-using EasyBoot 5
-everything is poited correctly with WinHex (or is it? :} )

-trying this for 7th day now, so my head feels like inflated watermelon in a 0.33 coca-cola bottle

HELP!!!!!!!

I know mistake is somewhere in what I did, because It boots when I put files in cd root,(then it reports error, cannot find XP disc, but it enters setup)

I think there's problem on relation xp2.bin - setupldr.bin, but cannot locate it. <_<

Use geitonaki's auto-create-boot folders. http://www.msfn.org/...showtopic=58446
Also, when you download it, just do the basic of redirecting in the create_boot_folders.bat file. Also, you could also edit the create_boot_folder.bat(Note:create_boot_folder.bat is not the same as create_boot_folders.bat). In the are where it has:
copy BOOT.BIN "%2\%3.bin" > nul 2>&1
start /w xvi32.exe "%2\%3.bin" /S=universalrepl.xsc "I386" "%3"

and change the .bin extensions to .dat.

Easyboot launch bootfile from its ezboot folder (put all .dat in ezboot folder)
and in easyboot use "run xxx.DAT" (replace xxx by the good file)

Mine multicd uses EazyBoot and all works fine with 6 versions of windows xp SP2 ..
Home Edition OEM / Pro Edition OEM / Pro volume license and for each
OS regular or unattended are possible. (note it takes just 596,7mb on the cd :) thanks optimize function of UltraISO/CDImageGUI)

i have this kind of peoblem too.
i used sdshell to make it,but i found that the "OEM" one showed:"CDBOOT: Could Not Find NTLDR
"
And the "server 2003" showed "NTLDR is corrupt"
i did as geitonaki's steps (because i will not use amd64,so i just cracked the setupldr.bin.)
Then the "Enterprise" show nothing .but the DataCenter Standard&Web showed:
"please inset the disk labeled : ****cd-rom into drive A"
i really cannot match it
thx for helping

I'm also getting the same error - however I only get it on Server 2003, XP Pro and XP MCE for me load fine. And I too got 7 occurrences of I386 - is this anything to do with it?

Try using a boot loader to launch setupldr.bin instead of launching directly to setupldr.bin as explained here.

I did follow the guide - but I've read somewhere that 2003 SP1 setupldr.bin has been changed and can detect it if you edit it or something like that - is this true?

When I put it in the root it loads, also tried with cracked one but it's not needed...
I'm getting ready to leave Eazyboot, and try the recommended utility CD Shell
