I play games but the games I play are like the popcap and gamehouse games. My friend who only plays the 1st person shooter games calls my games cheesey. Myare any type of games I play available for free? Not the time limited demo but purely free.

if i'm not mistaken, which i very well could be, isn't the original Quake free now?

here's an interesting website that lists game engines. you can filter the list for free/OS engines and then find links to developers that use them.

this is probably an even better resource.

EDIT

oh, and then there's Americas Army - free.

what are your computer specs? because some games are pretty needy in RAM.

you can get quake I and quake II free i believe if you search the net. They are extremely fun. And the CS is pretty cheap now. Where i am you can get that for around 15$ canadian, and its worth it. Quake III is pretty cheap now. Pretty much all the older version games are either free or very cheap.

AMD 1900+
1024 mb sdram
128 mb ddr video card
6 chanel sound

pretty much a mundane setup. I built it a few years ago
but still a good one not blazing fast like new ones

Dirtwarrior, all the games that i mentioned should run really smoothly on your pc, im not sure about your video card. If you are becoming a hardcore gamer, you should upgrade your video card.
