Someone fill me in plz need clarification on celeron CPU Rate Topic: -----

Took this from EVEREST Home

Processor Properties:
Manufacturer.........................Intel
Version.................................Intel Celeron™
CPU Alias..............................Coppermine-128
External Clock.......................100 MHz
Current Clock........................1100 MHz
Voltage.................................1.6 V
Socket Designation.................Intel™ Socket 370

Now as far as i know i can not overclock that CPU is that correct?

Hey i dont know if this helps or not but you cant overclock a celeron 700mhz on socket 370 so i dont think you can but im not sure.

If you can change the external clock you should be able to oc it.

100x11 is the default speed 1100MHz
110x11 is a 10% oc 1210MHz
120x11 is a 20% oc 1320MHz
128x11 is a 28% oc 1408MHz and would be as far as I'd go with stock cooling and voltage.

I OCed 600MHz celeron 2 CPUs at 1132MHz on CUBX motherboards from ASUS with aircooling and the CPU at 2.0v (high, I know, donīt try it directly ;)). I never tried a 1100MHz CPU, but it just depents on your mobo.

So, the question is, can your mobo do it? What brand and type of mobo you have there?

mobo? a POS, thats what ;)


its a Compaq Evo D300mt and they have MR825 boards i think ami bios


the newest drivers i can find for the damm thing are soo old :/


ive tried to change the clock multiplyer but the only way i had to actuailly check the clock was in "my computer"'s proberties box and i think thats a text file if i remmber i'll try again with everest.

Compaq? You can forget about OC'ing it. Their mobos don't have adjustable frequency and voltage, but you should look around in the BIOS setup to make sure.
