ipod video 30GB wont turn on! Rate Topic: -----

hi all. my ipod video 30GB wont turn on or charge. ive tryed to rest it but it still doesnt work. wen i put the ipod to my ear i hera this high-itched noise at the bottom of it where the ac adapter goes in. has this happened to anyone and how can i ressolve this issue.

Did you try the 'hard reset' described on Apples website? That usually fixes mine when it locks : Resetting iPod if it appears frozen or doesn't respond. Try this with the ipod plugged directly into the power socket (not usb / firewire charging) also.

that high pitched noise is just the hard drive spinning. its in all the ipods with large storage capacities (ie mini, and regular ipods)

Hey, I have the exact same problem and so far I havent been able to figure it out. It wont charge, turn on, or reset.

did you check the apple support forums? you could also send it in for a repair as the video isn't a year old so you still have a waranty. i would check the apple support forums, they are VERY helpful.
